Cometic AFM gaskets are made from an aluminum core that is coated on both sides with a chemically blown, compounded nitrile synthetic rubber that is bonded to the aluminum core. It resists temperatures exceeding 250°F (122°C). The AFM rubber offers 85% recovery while maintaining excellent torque retention. No retorquing, sealants, or silicone beads are necessary.
