Cometic AFM gaskets are made from an aluminum core coated with a thin layer of chemically expanded, foam-like, nitrile synthetic rubber bonded to both sides. Resistant to temperatures above 122 °C (250 °F). AFM rubber offers 85% elasticity while maintaining excellent torque retention. No retorquing, sealant, or silicone bead is necessary.
